Meet Rhet Takacs, owner of Golden Coast Dog Training.
He is a firm believer that it's never too late for any dog when it comes to getting them trained! No matter the age, breed, or size we are here to help and serve to the best of our abilities.
Rhet has been drawn to animals his whole life – specifically, dogs!
When he started training them, he knew he found his passion! He started his dog journey working for pet boarding and daycare facilities. While also boarding family and friend's dogs at his house. Because Rhet was around dogs so much, he wanted to develop a greater understanding on how they learn and communicate.
That’s when training came into play. His fascination grew and he set out on a mission to better understand how to speak the language of dog. Rhet gained a lot of hands-on experience over the years by working under a variety of different trainers around San Diego. Then he found out about The Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers that is located in Santa Rosa. There, he was able to expand his mind in the dog world and fell in love with dog sport competitions. Not only did he receive his certification for Dog Training, but was also able to purchase his first Belgian Malinois that he is currently working with and looking to compete with in the future. Rhet loves the dog sport world because it also has a lot to do with dogs that don’t compete when it comes to training!
Rhet has learned about detection training, doc diving, advance obedience, agility training, etc. And all those things helped him better understand how a dog truly works and takes in information. After Rhet gained the experience necessary to be a dog trainer, he felt called to open Golden Coast Dog Training. His goal is to turn you into the handler that brings the absolute best out of your dog. He feels that if he educates his clients the right way then dogs will be able to coexist with our lifestyles in a more natural and stress-free type of way! Rhet feels like every dog he works with helps him better understand dogs as a whole. And hungers and challenges himself to become a better trainer each day!
